Pump for Children Home

2016-05-31 13:37 by Thomas

This school year (May2016) the children's home in Mae La Noi provides education, food and a home for 12 children. So far, the fresh water was used from a nearby pond and passed through a BioSand water filter to provide safe and clean drinking water to the children. Due to the long drought and drop of the ground water level the pond dried out without hope to deliver water again anytime soon. Through the financial support of the Gesinas Stiftung and ImmunoTools GmbH, as well as the Grabbe family we could help immediately to solve the problem by digging a deep well, connected with a new water pump and pipelines into the children home. The children are so happy to have access to water again for their daily needs. On behalf of the children and our employees, but also from the Raintree Foundation and our Club, Thai Care e.V. we would like to say “Thank You” to the Gesinas Stiftung and ImmunoTools GmbH and the Grabbe family for their generous support.

Coffee, Coffee, Coffee

2016-02-11 15:45 by Thomas

Fortunately we have been able to join one of the first coffee processing workshops in Thailand which was organized by Torch Coffee in cooperation with the Wawee Organic Coffee Learning Center. This was such a great opportunity to learn more about coffee process, roasting and cupping.  As Raintree Foundation it is our main goal to help the rural coffee farmers in Northern Thailand to being able to grow high quality coffee, teach them to know that they have a great coffee and also provide help to have access to the world market to generate a good and worthwhile income. In the near future we want to establish “Karen Coffee” as a unity of farmers, being named after the ethnic hill tribes we work with to identify themselves with their own products. If you want to know more about our foundation and our coffee project please contact us and help us spread to word on social media like Facebook too.

Visit from Foster Parents from Germany

2016-01-12 16:29 by Thomas

On the weekend we visited our foster children together with a couple of foster parents which spend their holidays in Thailand. It is a great opportunity to for the foster parents to meet the child they support in real life. A lot of questions have been asked by both the child and the foster parents. It is really important for us to be transparent and giving foster parents the chance to see that their support and donations are used where it is needed and to see with their support the children are able to attend school, getting healthy food and a caring environment. If you are also interested in our work please visit our webpage and please spread the word and like us on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Rain-Tree-Foundation-179376458745735/ for English or our Partner in Germany on https://www.facebook.com/Thai-Care-eV-173452199360854/

Thank you.
